Fall Specials at Our Motor Way Espresso Bar

Every fall, the same question comes across the counter at our cafe on Motor Way: is it back yet? It is. Our two seasonal drinks are on the bar now, and they stay with us into early January. The roaster shares a room with the espresso bar, so the coffee in these drinks was roasted a few steps from where you order.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte Is Our Drink of the Month

The PSL is the Pumpkin Spice Latte, and right now it is also our drink of the month. We serve it with Pumpkin Pie Whipped cream on top, which is the part a lot of guests ask about first.

We usually make it hot, a good match for a cool morning. If you would rather have it cold, ask and we will make it iced. It does not come blended.

The Peppermint Mocha Is Back

The Peppermint Mocha is the other seasonal drink on the board, and it runs into early January. This one goes any way you like: hot, iced or blended. It gets the same espresso and milk choices as every other latte we pour.

Make It Yours

Both seasonal drinks are built on espresso, so the bar can shape them around how you take your coffee. Here is what you can ask for:

• Shots. Order a single, or keep adding. Six shots is on the menu, and we will not judge.

• Caffeine. Choose Milano (our light roast espresso), a ristretto pull, decaf or half decaf.

• Milk. Whole, low fat, non fat, breve (half and half), oat, almond, soy or heavy cream.

• Temperature and foam. Extra hot, not so hot, extra foam or no foam.

• A little extra. Add whipped cream, an extra pump of syrup, a lighter pour of syrup, honey or a cinnamon sprinkle.

If one of those choices is new to you, just ask at the counter. The baristas would rather help you get the drink right than have you guess.
